The BreastScreen NSW program offers free screening mammograms to women over 40 years of age. However women aged 50 to 74 years are especially invited as they are more at risk.
1 in 7 women in NSW will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and 9 out of 10 women with breast cancer do not have a family history. Yet less than 1 in 2 attend for regular breast screening. Therefore, I am seeking your active support in introducing more women to the benefits of the BreastScreen NSW Program.
Korean Interpreter Available
A free Korean speaking interpreter will be available every day on the van from 9.00am to 4.00pm to assist women with their forms and answer any questions about the mammography process. Women can also simply drop-in for assistance to make an appointment.
APPOINTMENTS: Call 13 20 50 or drop into the mobile van for an appointment
Every woman who attends during our visit will receive a free pink or purple umbrella.
Please share this information with eligible women attending your practice – in-language flyer and poster available. Resource Requests including GP Referral Pads: Call Melanie on 9515 8749 or email on Melanie.Ireland@health.nsw.gov.au.
