There continue to be no cases of community transmission reported in NSW, however one case has been reported in a person who was released from hotel quarantine and tested positive on day 16. This person attended venues in the Wollongong area as well as a Brighton Le Sands cafe. Further investigations are occurring as to the source of this case. People who attended Mootch and Me café in Brighton Le Sands on 2 February between 10.45am and 12 pm are advised to monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if these occur. Stay up to date with locations visited by a reported case on the NSW Health website.
We acknowledge the fantastic response from practices in the area wanting to participate in the COVID vaccination program. The Australian Government Department of Health is reviewing the EOIs together with CESPHN’s local analysis. The Department is also undertaking vaccine logistics planning regarding vaccine supply and they will soon advise on the next steps for how practices can participate in the vaccination program.
Following this advice the PHN will be actively working with practices to support their involvement in the program.
