EOI: GP Representatives for Urgent Care Service Advisory Committees

Central and Eastern Sydney PHN is seeking GP Representatives to join the Carlton Urgent Care Service Advisory Committee and Caringbah Urgent Care Service Advisory Committee.

UCSs are GP-led services that increase access to primary care and provide an alternative to visiting an Emergency Department for people that require urgent attention but not an emergency response.

The Carlton and Caringbah UCS are now operational.   GP representation on the Carlton and Caringbah UCS Advisory Committees will provide valuable advice and input to the delivery of the services. Each committee will meet  every two months. 

The role and responsibilities of the UCS advisory committee members will include:

  • Provide strategic advice on issues related to the delivery of Urgent care services in the CESPHN region.  
  • Assist planning and development of urgent care services with particular emphasis on improving access to urgent care services for diverse and vulnerable populations. 
  • Improve linkages between urgent care services and general practice. 
  • Provide advice relating to the implementation and promotion of Government urgent care services. 
  • Identify any developments that may impact the delivery of urgent care service delivery to CESPHN. 
  • Provide advice on the provision of information and promotional materials to general practice relating to the integration and use of government funded care aged care services. 
  • Assist to build strong primary care networks capable of supporting emerging urgent care needs for the community.  
  • Provide advice and expertise on the development of appropriate local bi-directional patient referral pathways and protocols.  
  • Identify and provide advice on respond  to any risks that may impact the UCS initiative

GP representatives will be renumerated for their time and appointed in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the EIS representation policy.

A review process will be undertaken by CESPHN and all applicants will be notified of the outcome.
