There is a supply outage of Ventolin 2.5mg nebules occurring from 15th November 2023, as reported on the TGA Medicine Shortages Database. In response to this outage, The Thoracic Society or Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) have gathered an expert committee comprising of GP, nursing, adult/paediatric physicians, and pharmacist representatives to deliver insightful practical solutions and education to address this outage.
The meeting will present data insights on the prescribing data and the impact this outage will have on patients.
In addition, the meeting will cover evidence for transitioning patients to pMDI and spacer, the safety issues associated with nebuliser use from both adult and paediatric perspectives, informative case studies and advice about how to discuss a transition away from nebulised therapy with patients and families.
