HIV Awareness Week 2020

23 November 2020

The last week of November is HIV Awareness Week, leading to World AIDS Day on December 1st.

This year, NSW Health wants to remind our communities that HIV testing is still important, even in the current content of COVID-19. When it is diagnosed early, effective treatments mean that it is possible to live a long and healthy life with HIV.

For HIV Awareness Week, we encourage community members to speak to their general practitioner, and we encourage health professionals to make offering HIV testing a standard part of routine practice.

The earlier HIV is diagnosed, the greater the chance of living a very normal healthy life.
