Practices with an oversupply of Pfizer vaccine stock on hand are encouraged to contact CESPHN via email at coronavirus@cesphn.com.au to help facilitate transfer to practices to who require additional supply.
Primary care COVID-19 vaccination sites may choose to transfer vaccines from one participating vaccination site to another for a range of reasons, including to support unmet demand at another site or to manage an oversupply of stock. Pfizer doses can be transferred between general practices, CVCs, ACCHS or state and territory clinics.
Temporary exemption form for people with a past SARS-CoV-2 infection
ATAGI Clinical Guidance recommends deferring COVID-19 vaccination for up to 6 months after the acute illness of confirmed infection with SARS-CoV-2. Similarly, if a person is infected with SARS-CoV-2 and has had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the second dose may be deferred for up to 6 months. In these situations, the person should consult their healthcare professional and their individual circumstances should be considered.
If vaccination is deferred up to 6 months, this can be indicated by completing section B of the NSW Health COVID-19 Vaccine Medical Contraindication form. Patients should be instructed to keep this completed form as evidence of their temporary medical contraindication for up to 6 months to COVID-19 vaccination.
Renew delegations in PRODA for AIR access
A GP can delegate range of functions, services and information in HPOS to practice staff (practice nurse, practice manager, administration staff), including access to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). Delegations expire after 12 months so GPs must renew delegations for staff to continue to access AIR.
The GP and delegates will get an expiry warning notification in your HPOS mailboxes before the delegation expires.
Visit our website for further information about PRODA and delegations to AIR.
