International Day of People with Disability world first kicks off in Australia!

16 November 2020

This year Australian Network on Disability (AND) is partnering with the global #PurpleLightUp campaign for an exciting new way of celebrating International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD)

On 3 December, the world’s first #PurpleLightUp 24-hour Global Broadcast will kick off from the shores of Australia!

IDPwD is celebrated on 3 December each year, promoting the awareness, understanding and contributions of people with disability. The United Nations has announced this year’s theme is “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”.

At 9.00 am (AEDT), this free global broadcast will start with three hours of celebration, panel discussions and interviews. The #PurpleLightUp Global Broadcast will provide an extraordinary opportunity for people with disability, employers, champions and allies from across the world to connect with each other, share best practice, feel the power of change, and celebrate #PurpleLightUp.

Register for the #PurpleLightUp Global Broadcast and stay tuned for the full line up of presentations and entertainment.
