Our Service

Headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol, and other drugs, and/or work and study support, as well as community engagement opportunities through a multidisciplinary team approach. 

Headspace Miranda work in partnership with local health and community service Organisations. As a GP at the service, you will provide free integrated physical, sexual and mental health services to young people accessing the service

Role overview

  • Work hours will typically involve 4-6 hour blocks (can offer flexibility also)
  • Provide high-standard GP assessments of persons experiencing physical and mental health issues.
  • Creating Mental Health Care Plans for internal referrals, Psychiatrist and Allied Health Services.
  • Providing high-quality, primary health care services to those accessing headspace.
  • Respond to medical/health concerns presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate.
  • Encourage and support young people to engage with sexual health and drug and alcohol services as well as preventative health care.

  • Current registration with AHPRA Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • A commitment to quality youth-focused primary health care services to those accessing the centre(s)
  • Eligibility to provide services under Medicare and be willing to Bulk Bill
  • Level 1 in Mental Health Skills Training 
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
