About the service
Headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people aged 12-25, who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.
About the opportunity
This is an exciting position for our headspace service, involving the opportunity to conduct group and individual interventions both at schools and at our Hurstville and Miranda Centres. The successful applicant will be:
Excited about the opportunity to champion and rollout a new program SchoolSpace in 2023
An experienced Mental Health Practitioner who has a passion for working with young people
Willingness to facilitate high standard therapeutic group interventions to young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health issues
Demonstrated experience in liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders
The role will be co-located at one or more schools during school terms, and headspace Centres Hurstville and Miranda during school holidays

Part-time (0.6 FTE) & Permanent
Paying on HPSS Level 3 (above award payment for highly experienced clinicians) plus Super

Role Overview
As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinician will provide focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of the young people and families accessing the service within a community based mental health care setting. As well as working with relevant service systems to respond appropriately to their mental health and developmental needs.
Providing high standard assessments, psychological, counselling and therapeutic interventions
Opportunities to run group programs
Liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
Must have one of the following: General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR Mental
Health Nurse OR AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Extensive & demonstrated experience providing clinical services to young people (12-25 years)
Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planning
Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting
Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness
Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team
Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
