About the service
Headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people aged 12-25, who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.
About the opportunity
This is an exciting position for our headspace service, involving the opportunity to conduct group and individual interventions both at schools and at our Hurstville and Miranda Centres. The successful applicant will be:
Excited about the opportunity to champion and rollout a new program SchoolSpace in 2023
An experienced Mental Health Practitioner who has a passion for working with young people
Willingness to facilitate high standard therapeutic group interventions to young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health issues
Demonstrated experience in liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders
The role will be co-located at one or more schools during school terms, and headspace Centres Hurstville and Miranda during school holidays

Part -time (0.8FTE) & Permanent
Based in St George/Sutherland schools and headspace Centres Hurstville and Miranda
Paying on HPSS Level 3 plus Super

To be an employee of the Lead Agency, Stride, with over 100 years’ experience in the Mental Health sector Access to Clinical Education offered within the Stride centres Access to funded professional development opportunities
Requirements
Current registration with AHPRA or relevant body.
Must have one of the following: General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health
Nurse OR Social Worker with AASW registration/eligibility OR Counsellor with Level 2 PACFA or ACA registration
Willingness to facilitate evidence-based group programs
Experience developing and facilitating evidence-based group programs
Experience liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to contribute to the professional development of self and others through education, professional networking and application of evidence based practice.
Demonstrating a great level of profession specific knowledge, expertise and skill.
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
Full Drivers License
