MyMedicare – new voluntary patient registration

MyMedicare aims to strengthen the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner (GP) and primary care teams.

From 1 October 2023 patients can register for MyMedicare. Patients must have a Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran card to register in MyMedicare. There will be options for patients to register online and or in-person at their registered practice.

Please see below new updated information and links for general practices and patients. These resources include, How to register your practice to MyMedicare; a GP Toolkit – communicating with your patients; posters and brochures for your patients; Frequently asked questions – practice and patients.

There are also new updates with Services Australia taking you through a step-by-step process on how to Manage Patient Registration in an eLearning module.
