National Cancer Screening Registry (NCSR) in-practice support for GPs

Get real time access to a patient screening status through Best Practice and Medical Director clinical softwares.

Noticing a patient is overdue for bowel screening or being able to view cervical screening histories can prompt an extremely valuable discussion around early detection potentially leading to opportunistic screening.

By accessing the NCSR through your clinical system you can:

  • you can complete requests on patients’ behalf, such as requesting to defer next screening dates or ordering replacement bowel test kits to be issued to a patient’s home
  • view and submit screening information about your patient, such as colonoscopy or colposcopy information
  • nominate other people to assist your patient, including another doctor or a personal representative.

It’s a fast and secure method to access and submit information to the NCSR removing the need to fax or email paper referral forms and has no transmission costs.

The CESPHN Digital Health Team are providing onsite support to GP practices across the region to assist in the set up and use of the NCSR. Email digitalhealth@cesphn.com.au or call 1300 986 991 to book in a practice visit.
