New assessment and referral services for adults with intellectual disability and complex care needs

The Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) Complex Care Service (CCS) is a state-wide, multidisciplinary, nurse-led, healthcare service for adults with intellectual disabilities and complex health needs.

CCS, funded by the NSW Ministry of Health, addresses unmet complex health needs, and provides additional capacity to the sector. The service works collaboratively with primary healthcare providers and the existing NSW Intellectual Disability Health Services.

It operates one day a week at the Bethany Centre in Strathfield.  The service provides comprehensive health assessments, health care planning, assessment reports, and suggestions for services and interventions based on individual’s needs.
