Non-delivery of discharge summaries from SESLHD

The South Eastern Sydney LHD (SESLHD) advised us that some GPs are not receiving discharge summaries. One reason is when practices discontinue the use of the secure messaging solution Argus for their practice and do not remove the GP/practice details from the Argus directory.

The discharge summary distribution functionality searches for Argus (A) first when distributing messages electronically and will only default to the next messaging provider if no GP/practice details are found in the Argus directory. If the GP practice/details are still found in the Argus directory, this will cause a delivery error.

Another common reason for discharge non-delivery is when a new GP joins the practice but the practice forgets to notify the secure messaging solution vendor. If a new GP joins your practice make sure you advise the respective secure messaging provider – Argus, Healthlink or Medical Objects to update the practice details so the GP is linked to the practice and receives discharge summaries (or any other electronic correspondence).
