We’re pleased to announce that Religious, Spiritual, and Cultural Factors, will be the topic for the ninth free webinar in HammondCare’s 10-part education series for residential and community care workers, A Palliative Approach to Care.
Optional workshop dates:
Tuesday 21 November 2023, 3pm – 4pm AEST
Thursday 23 November 2023, 3pm – 4pm AEST
Developed and delivered by HammondCare, the program aims to increase knowledge and understanding of palliative and end of life care, and to help care teams working within the Central and Eastern Sydney PHN region to provide the best support at this critical stage of our residents, patients and clients’ lives.
Drawing on decades of research and experience, A Palliative Approach to Care gives an extensive overview of death, dying and palliative care. The program explores what good palliative care involves and how to deliver it. Participants will learn to recognise when someone is dying and feel confident to have conversations about end-of-life with those in our care and their families.
In this webinar, participants will:
Gain an understanding of what pastoral care is and the support it offers to people at the end of their lives.
Explore religious and spiritual beliefs and how attitudes to dying and grieving can vary depending on cultural background.
