Launched on 2 July 2018, the Psychiatry Support Line is a free phone service for GPs aimed at helping them manage the care of their mental health consumers. Since the launch, response to the program has been overwhelmingly positive, with more than 1,200 registrations in our region and hundreds of GPs calling 1800 16 17 18 to access a psychiatrist for assistance.
Providers of this service, ProCare, also offer free GP accredited learning activities. There are six pre-recorded webinars with all (excluding Webinar 1) accredited with the RACGP for 2 CPD points. They have also been accredited with ACRRM for 1 PDP Educational Activity.
The latest webinar topics include Addiction & Substance Use Disorder, Suicidal Ideation & Prevention.
The topic for the upcoming webinar will be about eating disorders.
