RPAH Direct Access Colonoscopy Service goes live

RPAH Direct Access Colonoscopy Service goes live General Practice can now refer to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Direct Access Colonoscopy (DAC) service for patients with positive FOBT and Cancer Screening Program.

The new service is accepting referrals for Colonoscopy for the following indications:

  • Cancer Screening
  • Family history of colorectal cancer
  • Fe deficiency Anaemia
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • Polyp surveillance
  • PR Bleeding
  • Unexplained weight loss

Unexplained abdominal pain Access to the service is via the specific DAC HealthLink SmartForm which is located within the Sydney Local Health District (Gastroenterology and Liver) listing in the embedded in Best Practice, Genie and Medical Director HealthLink functions. This month the following Sydney Local Health District services are also now accessible to GP referrals via HealthLink SmartForms:

Concord Hospital

  • Palliative Care
  • High Risk Foot service

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

  •  Inflammatory Bowel Disease service

    SLHD Wide
  • District wide Podiatry services

Over the coming months more Sydney Local Health District services will be e-Referral enabled with development work already underway to bring e-referral options for Canterbury and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals Maternity and Gynaecology services.
