September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Here are the facts:

  • 1 in 6 Australian men will be diagnosed in their lifetime.
  • 75% of Australians still don’t know the PSA test guidelines.
  • Only 36% of prostate cancers are detected at the earliest stage, when we know we can effectively treat the disease.

The good news is, the actions we take as a health care community can help ensure early diagnosis and long-term survival.

Visit the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia website https://pcfa.org.au/ for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month resources to share with your practice, patients and your communities and for more information.
