The Men’s Table – A mental health group for men

Monday, 7 December 2020

Most men are reluctant to seek support, especially with regards to mental, emotional and social wellbeing.

A 2018 Relationships Australia report found that men are more likely to experience loneliness than women, 40% of single fathers report emotional loneliness and lack of social support, widowed men and retirees, report high rates of loneliness, and men experiencing financial stress are also more likely to be lonely.

In response to this, The Men’s Table was formed – a non-judgmental space by men for men. The Men’s Table creates a unique environment for men to openly share their stories, challenges, highs and lows with a group of men in a respectful and trusting atmosphere. The groups are peer-led, supportive, accessible and are held monthly.
