The Government has recently announced funding to reform access to opioid dependence treatment (ODT). From 1 July 2023, ODT medications will be listed on the PBS and people who receive ODT medications will no longer pay a daily fee. Since then, further updates have been made including the announcement that private clinics and non-PBS dosing sites can continue to order directly from pharmaceutical wholesalers/distributors at no cost until 30 November 2023.
