Sydney Local Health District is implementing their Voluntary Assisted Dying Program, which is a new and significant change in end of life care related to the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act (2022) will come into effect as of 28 November 2023.
The Visiting Medical Officers (General Practitioner) in the SLHD Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Program will work as part of the SLHD VAD team, providing high quality medical care to patients. They will ensure a high standard of professional performance acting as VAD coordinating, consulting and administering practitioners under the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Act (2022), and contribute to the program to so that clinicians, services and the public are well served and all aspects of the legislation are complied with.
