Job Title: Staff Specialist – Primary Care

Skills Experience: We are looking for a qualified health care professional with:

  • Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Eligibility for OR current fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or other recognised speciality as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and clinical experience in the management of patients with complex acute and chronic primary health issues.

The Staff Specialist – Primary Care provides specialist assessment and ongoing care of patients with acute and chronic primary care health issues in correctional campuses administered by the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (JHFMHN) in accordance with best evidence-based practice and organisational policies.

Our Location

The Sydney Metropolitan Region covers several correctional complexes.

  • Long Bay Correctional Complex is located 14km south of Sydney’s central business district. The complex houses Long Bay Hospital and the Metropolitan Special Programs Centre (MSPC).
  • Silverwater Correctional Complex is located 21km west of Sydney’s central business district. The complex houses Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre, Metropolitan Remand & Reception Centre (MRRC), and the Dawn de Loas Correctional Centre.
  • Francis Greenway Correctional Complex is located 5km south of Windsor, in Sydney. The complex houses John Morony Correctional Centre, Geoffrey Pearce Correctional Centre, and Dillwynia Correctional Centre.
