Rapid Assessment, Diagnosis and Intervention Unit Sutherland

The Rapid Assessment, Diagnosis and Intervention Unit Sutherland (RADIUS) is a community-facing unit within the Sutherland Hospital for complex medical patients who are not critically unwell, to receive rapid assessment and intervention from a multidisciplinary team, prior to supported discharge back into the community or admission for further treatment.

RADIUS is intended to provide an alternate pathway to promptly assess and manage general medical problems and to help patients with complex health needs avoid or reduce the time they spend in Hospital or TSH Emergency Department through coordination with the community.

Health Professionals can also find more information and links to acute care services in the community on HealthPathways South Eastern Sydney and Sydney websites.
