In General Practice, interactions dealing with difficult patients and/or their family members can be complex. It is important to acknowledge that often patients or family members may be upset, angry or demanding for a valid reason, usually out of genuine concern. In a general practice setting, knowing your rights and setting boundaries is essential to diffusing the volatile situation.

Join Risk Advisor, Annabel Herron, as she provides practice managers and practice staff advice for dealing with difficult patient situations with a focus on insight into claims related to difficult patient interactions; navigating patient complaint management; and ending the doctor-patient relationship. She will also talk about the importance of documenting events and how to prevent further complaints.
