CESPHN is committed to supporting our region to respond to disasters or critical incidents that impact health and wellbeing in our community. We recognise our communities’ increasing vulnerability to climate change and other disasters. Learning from recent events we know that preparation is key.
The CESPHN Disaster Management webpages aim to provide relevant information and links to support greater resilience in our local communities.
PREPARE
Being prepared helps to ensure that when disasters happen, you and your staff are ready to respond effectively.
RESPOND
Responding to the health needs of your patients during a disaster ensures continuity of care and relieves pressure on hospital Emergency Departments.
RECOVER
Recovery from the physical and mental impacts of a disaster can take time. Connecting with the right support can reduce the sense of isolation and aid recovery.
To enhance our region’s preparedness and capacity to respond to disasters, CESPHN is establishing a volunteer register for a Primary Care Emergency Response Team (PCERT). Read more about our PCERT and how you can be involved.
CESPHN would like to acknowledge the generous support of our colleagues at PHNs across NSW for sharing their resources in the development of this webpage.
