The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign that runs annually from 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).

During the 16 Days of Activism, communities around the world join the call to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls.

A full-time GP in Australia is estimated to unknowingly see 5 women a week experiencing DFV. GPs receive the most disclosures of current DFV out of any professional group, including social workers and police.

Do your part in ending gender-based violence by booking in free training for your practice on Responding to Domestic and Family Violence in Primary Care in 2025, or contacting the DFV Navigator for advice on supporting a patient impacted by DFV.

From next year we will also be offering free training for practices on Sexual Violence and Child Sexual Abuse.

For training enquiries, call 1800 719 801 option 1 or email dfvassist@cesphn.com.au

For referral support and consultation, call 1800 719 801 option 2 or email wdvcap@legalaid.nsw.gov.au.
