SESLHD are streamlining the referral pathway into Women’s Health services across the district.
eReferrals are electronic forms submitted by GPs/referrers via practice software through Healthlink or MyHealthLink portal. eReferrals replace paper methods of sending referrals such as fax or post.
eReferrals are the preferred method for selected services across SESLHD. Over 10,000 eReferrals have been submitted by almost 600 organisations since the eReferrals went live in November 24. More services will be onboarded over the coming months.
All referrals will be processed and managed via the electronic Referral Management System (eRMS).
Starting from 6 November 2024, all SESLHD Women’s Health Services will be grouped together to enhance and streamline the approach for referring into one of the below services.
Women’s Health
Antenatal
Colposcopy
Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS)
Fertility and Research Centre
Gynaecology and Women’s Health
Osteoporosis clinic
Severe and complex Menopause
Termination of Pregnancy clinic
Benefits of Electronic referrals
Referrals are sent, received, and managed electronically. Sending an eReferral instead of a paper or faxed referral has multiple benefits for referrers, including:
eReferrals are integrated with HealthLink practice software and can be launched directly from the software.
Multiple fields are pre-populated with patient information.
Clinical information can be easily attached.
Referrals are sent quickly and securely.
Completed eReferrals are saved against the patient record in your practice software.
Referrers are notified via secure message of referral receipt, outcome, and triage category.
Improved visibility of services. Referrers can select from a list of outpatient services and clinicians.
What would I need to do?
If you already use HealthLink practice software, you will have access to eReferrals when they go live. Video user guides for completing eReferrals can be found here:
Referrers who do not access these systems can access eReferrals via the MyHealthLink portal. A HealthLink account is required. HealthLink Portal: MyHealthLink Portal – HealthLink
