eReferral is the preferred method available through HealthLink SmartForm. eReferrals are available in Best Practice, Genie and Medical Director, or through the MyHealthLink portal (login required).

To further improve the eReferral process please follow the below procedure:

  • Please complete an eReferral AFTER 6-weeks gestation of pregnancy confirming by dating ultrasound.
  • The referral MUST be accompanied by an ultrasound and antenatal pathology
  • All referrals are triaged to ensure women receive care at the appropriate time by the appropriate clinician. To facilitate this triage process please provide a detailed past medical, surgical, and obstetric history (including any history of LLETZ, cone biopsy, preterm birth or miscarriage) in the referral
  • Women with T1DM or T2DM will require an eReferral as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed and will need to be seen at 8-weeks gestation.

Referring at this time should allow access to the model of care choice.

  • Women with medical disorders will require a NAMED SECOND eReferral addressed to the relevant named specialists as indicated below:

                Obstetric Medicine Doctors and Endocrinologists:

                            ▪  Dr A Beech, Dr H Barrett, Prof S Lowe

                Endocrinologist:

                         ▪   Dr S M Lau

               Haematologist:

                        ▪   Dr G Kidson-Gerber
