Child and Family Health
CESPHN recognises that child health is a key priority issue, with rates of developmentally vulnerable children higher in this region compared to the national average. The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) measures development vulnerability through the following domains: physical health and wellbeing; social competency; emotional maturity; communication skills and general knowledge; and language and cognitive skills.
Promethazine hydrochloride (Phenergan) should not be given to children under 6

Better access to diagnostic imaging and pathology reports through My Health Record
From December 2024, a legislative mandate will require both public and private pathology and diagnostic imaging providers to upload reports to My Health Record by default to improve availability of essential health information.
The first Wednesday in February each year is Primary Health Care Nurses Day, where we celebrate the amazing work that nurses do outside of the hospital setting, in aged care, community, general practice, custodial, schools and a range of other primary health care settings.
This document accompanies the Infection prevention and control guidelines for general practices and other office-based and community-based practices (IPC Guidelines), providing answers to questions frequently received by the Standards team.
Generative AI is a broad term that can be used for any AI system whose primary function is to generate content. The service provided by various providers can vary from simple transcription to re-organisation of the transcription into medical notes, creation of patient information sheets and referral letters.
This webinar reviews the key considerations you need to address when selecting an AI tool that assists with clinical records. Medico-legal concerns such as privacy, consent and accuracy will be reviewed from a legal and professional obligation.
If you are looking for financial support to help you pursue your health care education goals ACN offer a range of Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate aged care, nursing and midwifery courses as well as scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying entry-level health courses.
