The GP Antenatal Shared Care (ANSC) programs in the CESPHN region are:
GPs wishing to participate in the ANSC program are required to submit an online application form and fulfil the registration requirements.
There is an expectation that GPs wishing to register with the program have previous obstetric experience and assumed knowledge and skills in caring for pregnant women. For GPs with no or minimal obstetric experience, the GP ANSC program does not provide formal obstetric training. It may be possible to facilitate a hospital obstetrics placement, please contact ansc@cesphn.com.au for more information.
Affiliated ANSC GPs are expected to stay up to date with relevant hospital protocols and guidelines and fulfil ongoing education requirements. Information will be provided to GPs via quarterly ANSC e-newsletters, via email communication and via the CESPHN Maternal Health web page.
Registration for the ANSC program requires:
ANSC orientation sessions are hosted by each of the hospitals 2-3 times per year. GPs will be advised on upcoming orientation sessions when applications are processed.
