Cancer Institute NSW – ReadytoScreen trial to support lung cancer screening

From 1 July 2025, The National Lung Cancer Screening Program will begin. Eligible participants will need a referral from their GP to be screened. Early detection through screening is proven to significantly improve outcomes for patients at high risk of lung cancer.

The ReadytoScreen trial seeks to explore the most effective approaches for encouraging eligible patients to participate in lung cancer screening. It aims to examine how communication and information provided by a patient’s general practice can boost participation rates, as well as identify ways to better support practices in implementing the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
