Most mornings, I get up at around 5 am and exercise for 30 minutes on my exercise bike. I listen to a podcast during this time on the bike, opening my mind up to different ways of thinking. Following this, I complete some stretches, some mindfulness, and some journaling. I love this time of the morning as it is quiet and calm. It enables more time to pause and reflect. Outside of my daily exercise, I play softball, which I love!
2. What did you eat today?
Today I ate my homemade chia pudding with coconut yoghurt, nuts, and fruit. I have recently discovered how to make chia pudding and enjoy the different tastes I can bring together to make this yummier!
3. What do you do to best look after your mental health?
My morning habit of getting up, exercising, and reflecting has helped me look after my mental health. Over the past year, I have been journaling most days on thoughts going through my head, decisions that need to be made and my reflections on life and relationships. This is a very powerful yet simple tool. Keeping connections with people has also been so important in looking after my mental health – both personally and professionally.
4. When did you last see a primary health professional?
Last month I caught up with my GP and other health practitioners. I strongly believe in seeking assistance and being preventative in looking after my health.
5. What are your health goals for the next month?
I hope to keep up with my exercise, mindfulness, and journaling over the next month.
