Together We’re Better
Improving Health Outcomes for People with Intellectual disability
This workshop equips Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Team Leaders and House Coordinators with knowledge and skills to assist their teams to support the health needs of clients with intellectual disability.
Disability service providers play a crucial role in promoting preventative health behaviours and supporting health interventions. Research shows that annual health assessments are more effective when initiated by the patient or their carer. However, the disability workforce is highly casualised, and providers often receive limited training and development funding. This workshop aims to bridge this gap by offering essential training and fostering collaboration between service providers and primary care.
