CESPHN acknowledges the advocacy of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersex, trans and gender diverse community to bring safety, equity and inclusion for diverse LGBTIQA+ peoples. We honour community leaders who fought to protect LGBTIQA+ people and increase equity for generations to come. We pay tribute to those that lost their lives due to ostracism, violence, criminalization and invisibility.
General practitioners are crucial in delivering first-contact, continuous care for LGBTIQA+ patients, many of whom face unique barriers in accessing healthcare. At CESPHN, we are committed to building the capacity of GPs to provide inclusive, respectful, and responsive care.
We support ongoing professional development, offering training and resources that align with the NSW LGBTIQA+ Health Strategy 2022-2027.
By fostering an environment that promotes learning and inclusivity, we aim to equip GPs with the knowledge and tools to meet the diverse needs of LGBTIQA+ individuals.
Strengthening the capabilities of the primary care workforce will play a pivotal role in reducing disparities and improving health outcomes for this community.
Central and Eastern Sydney PHN co-fund a variety of services in the central and eastern Sydney region. We have developed a service directory to direct health professionals to the latest services in our region. Below is a link to our LGBTIQA+ services that will help support your patients health.
