Over 1.1 million people in Australia are living w an eating disorder. Less than a third of people living with an eating disorder receive treatment or support.
Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network, in collaboration with the InsideOut Institute, is inviting general practices to take part in a 12-month Quality Improvement (QI) project focused on improving the early identification, diagnosis, and management of eating disorders in primary care.
The project will involve structured quarterly QI activities, access to the GP Hub (a digital suite of tools including clinical decision support, screening tools and more), and optional accredited training for any of your staff.
Practices in CESPHN using Best Practice or Medical Director and are eligible to participate. This project will use the POLAR data tool, if your practice does not already use this it will be supplied to you for the year by CESPHN.
Benefits of participating in the eating disorder project include:
Access to extensive library of screening and decision support tools
Accredited training for your staff
Improved early identification of at risk patinets
Improved intervention and clinical management
Improved utilisation of eating disorder MBS items
