General practices are advised that there are currently national supply delays affecting Capvaxive® (adult pneumococcal vaccine).To help manage available stock, practices should only schedule vaccination appointments for eligible patients when adequate vaccine supplies are available on site. Supply constraints are expected to improve over the coming months, and practices will be advised as availability returns to normal.

There is ample stock of Imojev® vaccines with some upcoming expiries. Please consider all opportunities to recommend and provide Imojev® vaccines to eligible patients.
The inactivated JEspect® vaccine continues to be in restrained supply and is available to be ordered for eligible patients by contacting the local PHU. JEspect® should only be used for patients who cannot receive Imojev®. Please refer to JEV for Health Professionals and the Australian Immunisation Handbook.

An estimated 220,000 people in Australia are living with chronic hepatitis B, yet around one-third remain undiagnosed and more than 75% are not engaged in regular care. Because hepatitis B often causes no initial symptoms, many people are unaware they are infected until serious liver disease develops.
To support earlier diagnosis and connection to care, Hepatitis Australia has released new resources for healthcare providers and community members, with a focus on priority populations, including Chinese and Filipino communities.
GPs are encouraged to discuss hepatitis B testing with patients at risk, provide culturally appropriate care, and support timely referral and follow-up. Resources include a GP information pack and community information available in Chinese and Tagalog.
