The NCIRS Co-administration of vaccines guide for immunisation providers was updated July 2026.
Most vaccines can be co-administered with other vaccines at the same National Immunisation Program (NIP) schedule point. Separate injection sites should be used where possible, and if the same muscle is used to administer more than one vaccine, ensure a 2.5 cm distance between injection sites.
Live vaccines should be either administered on the same day, or given at least 4 weeks apart.
This guide should be used in conjunction with the Australian Immunisation Handbook, which provides detailed advice on vaccine dosage, administration, contraindications and precautions.

The Adult vaccinations brochure was updated to include the new Capvaxive pneumococcal vaccine. This brochure provides information about recommended vaccines available free for adults under the National Immunisation Program (NIP).
