Non-registered practitioner in Redfern may have placed clients at risk

NSW Health and the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) were recently made aware of a non-registered practitioner who has been providing cosmetic and other health services, including invasive procedures, from a private residence in Redfern.

The HCCC has issued a Public Warning in relation to Ms I-Pei Pan, who was practicing from the Redfern premises until September 2026. NSW Health has published an accompanying FAQ page.

Clients of Ms Pan may present to GPs or pharmacists reporting health concerns related to interventions they received. Pharmacists are advised to refer clients to their GP.

Potential risks that clients of Ms Pan have been exposed to include:

  • Infection risks due to inadequate hygiene and infection control
  • Receiving inappropriate, ineffective or harmful medications
  • Missed, misdiagnosed or inappropriately managed medical conditions, including women’s health conditions

Any client who underwent invasive procedures performed by Ms Pan should have bloodborne virus testing (hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV). They may also require medical investigation and counselling regarding any interventions or medical advice received from Ms Pan.

If a person wishes to make a complaint in relation to this matter, they can contact the HCCC on 1800 043 159
