Obstetric Clinical Placements are provided to GPs who are affiliated with The Royal Hospital for Women Antenatal Shared Care Program.

This gives those GPs a chance to shadow an Obstetrics Specialist through the Antenatal Ward at The RHW. Please note that to ensure minimal disruption to the ward and it’s patients only six places are available at each clinical placement and ward rounds begin at 5.30 pm sharp.

Learning Outcomes

• Recognise the significance of accurately performing an obstetric clinical examination
• Refer to the correct services available at the RHW for further advice if any management concerns arise 
• Perform an obstetric clinical examination and assess foetal wellbeing with increased confidence and competency

3 ANSC Points have been allocated for this activity (this equates to 1.5 hours out of the 6 hour minimum education requirement for ANSC GPs in the 2023-2025 triennium). All ANSC GPs from across the region are welcome and will receive ANSC Points accordingly.
