Obstetric Clinical Placements are provided to GPs who are affiliated with The Royal Hospital for Women Antenatal Shared Care Program.

This gives those GPs a chance to shadow an Obstetrics Specialist/ Midwife through the Antenatal Outpatients Clinics at the RHW. 

Learning Outcomes

• Recognise the significance of accurately performing an obstetric clinical examination
• Refer to the correct services available at the RHW for further advice if any management concerns arise 
• Perform an obstetric clinical examination and assess foetal wellbeing with increased confidence and competency

4 ANSC Points have been allocated for this activity (this equates to 2 hours out of the 6 hour minimum education requirement for ANSC GPs in the 2026-2028 triennium). All ANSC GPs from across the region are welcome and will receive ANSC Points accordingly.
