The session is an extension of the introductory session and provides an opportunity for mental health professionals to apply skills and knowledge confidently when engaging with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities including people with migrant and refugee experiences. It is designed to be interactive and will provide opportunities for discussion, self-reflection as well as practicing tools and strategies that may help navigate some of the issues that may arise.

Introduction to Culturally Responsive Mental Health Care – Level 1 is a pre-requisite of attending this course.

Key Learning Objectives;

1. Identify barriers and enablers in providing culturally responsive mental healthcare

2. Identify and apply culturally appropriate tools and resources to demonstrate culturally responsive mental health care

Target Audience: Allied Health Providers including psychologists and mental health social workers.
