Facilitated by a team of highly trained intensive care paramedics.
The Clinical Emergency Management Program (CEMP) Intermediate workshops have been designed to build participants' knowledge, skills and confidence when responding to medical emergencies.
This workshop includes CPR practice and assessment, which meets the 2017–2019 triennium basic CPR course requirement. It also meets the basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) training requirements for general practice registrars and RACGP Fellowship.
The course is developed by GPs in collaboration with qualified paramedic professionals who have many years experience teaching emergency medicine.
Online Predisposing activity will be sent to participants and must be completed 3 days prior to the workshop start date.
Online Reinforcing activities will be available 5 working days after the workshop and must be completed within 4 weeks of the workshop date.
Each of the course components must be completed to receive 40 Category 1 points in the RACGP QI&CPD Program and to meet the 2017-2019 triennium basic CPR course requirement.
CPR certification is valid for 2017-2019 RACGP QI&CPD Program triennium, However the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines recommend that those trained in CPR should refresh their skills at least annually.
ALS certification is valid for four years from the date of attendance at a Clinical Emergency Management Program (CEMP) Intermediate workshop providing all course components are completed.
