Lower back pain is a significant health issue in Australia, affecting around 4 million people, or 16% of the population. It is the third leading cause of disease burden, accounting for 4.3% of the total disease burden in 2023. In general practice managing lower back pain is a common and crucial aspect of patient care, with millions of consultations each year.
