Heat preparedness in primary care for a warming planet – Associate Professor Lai Heng Foong, Senior Emergency Staff Specialist, Bankstown Lidcombe Hospital and Principal Research Fellow, Heat and Health Research Center, University of Sydney

The session will discuss:

• Current landscape of heat-related risks – public health context and clinical implications.
• Discuss the Life stages and how heat affects communities
• Vulnerable patient cohorts and how to protect them- prevention is better than cure
• Management of heat related illnesses based on evidence
• Indicators for escalation to emergency care
