Gambling can affect a person from any gender, age group, socioeconomic background, culture, or walk of life.
This webinar aims to help health professionals identify management and referral strategies for patients experiencing issues with gambling, and understand associated psychosocial factors and comorbidities.
The activities will also outline how to initiate conversations with patients to investigate the potential harms and the adverse impacts it has on their health and relationships.
GPs are often the first point of call for people experiencing the negative effects of gambling and play an important role in asking gentle questions, screening and referring onto specialist services and other supports.
Understanding and identifying the signs, effects and co-occurrence of gambling harm can help GPs effectively screen patients for gambling harm and make appropriate treatment plans and referral interventions.
