Join us for training in the Initial Assessment and Referral (IAR) Decision Support Tool (DST) for Mental Healthcare.

The National IAR Guidance and IAR-DST has been developed by the Australian Department of Health and is being rolled out nationally. Further information can be found in the IAR Snapshot.

The training will cover the following topics:

• The principles underpinning the national approach to stepped care.
• Summary the IAR development process.
• The use of IAR Guidance in practice settings to generate a recommended level of care.
• How the levels of care relate to available regional services
• The principles related to clinical decision making and consumer choice 

Presenter – CESPHN IAR-DST Training and Support Officer Amy Steven will facilitate the training. Amy has extensive knowledge of mental health presentations and interrelated complexities in treatment and safety planning. She is a qualified counsellor having worked predominantly with adolescents and families, with her most recent work in the AOD sector facilitating groups and delivering training.
