Please join us for an informative session during World Breastfeeding Week, covering breastfeeding essentials for GPs and Practice Nurses. This event is open to any GP in the region who would like to attend (not just ANSC GPs).

The session will cover:

• Breastfeeding basics – physiology, mechanics
• Common problems – mastitis/nipple trauma/tongue tie/perceived low supply
• Case studies and practical examples

Presented by: Dr Kavita Krishnan, Breastfeeding Medicine Specialist, Perinatal GP and IBCLC

Learning Outcomes:

• Describe the physiology and mechanics affecting milk production and successful transfer of milk to the baby to facilitate adequate nutrition and growth
• Manage common breastfeeding complications and provide support to breastfeeding patients

Target audience: GPs and nurses

2 ANSC Points have been allocated for this activity (this equates to 1 hour out of the 6 hour minimum education requirement for ANSC GPs in the 2023-2025 triennium). All ANSC GPs from across the region are welcome and will receive ANSC Points accordingly.
