This training will provide practical information and materials for GPs and primary health care professionals to enhance their capability to care for people with intellectual disability.

The training has been developed by the Council for Intellectual Disability and delivered via CESPHN’s Primary Care Enhancement Program, Project GROW.

The session will be facilitated by a GP, Dr Jessica Murphy, and includes interactive, case-based learning.

Learning Outcomes:

• Increased understanding of types of health conditions related to people with intellectual disability
• Identification of key clinical resources to promote better awareness, and assessment, of these conditions
• Increased confidence to deliver best health interventions for people with intellectual disability
• Identifying practice, whole-of-practice reasonable adjustments.

Target audience: GPs, nurses, practice managers, allied health professionals and administrative staff working in general practice.
