This session is designed to give GPs practical, clinically relevant guidance on recognising ADHD, facilitating assessment, understanding treatment options and supporting long‑term management. • Recognising ADHD in children and adults in general practice, including when GPs can assess and when to refer to psychologist or psychiatrist
• Overview of ADHD medications—what they are, when they’re used and why
• Pharmacology of commonly used psychotropic medications to support safe medication adjustments in GP, clinical reasoning behind selecting, switching, or modifying medications
• Evidence‑based non‑pharmacological strategies for home, school and workplace, and how to work effectively alongside mental health professionals
