Non-Fatal strangulation (NFS) poses a serious medical consequence including potential of stroke, disability or death. It is a very serious red flag with often non-visible physical markers. We need to ensure we are providing a consistent and appropriate response to victims of NFS. 

Learning Outcomes:

• Identify the signs and symptoms of Non-fatal strangulation
• Understand the risks of Non-fatal strangulation
• Appropriately assess a victim of non-fatal strangulation and identify an appropriate medical treatment pathway
• Understand appropriate follow up and referral options
